DIGITAL INDIGENOUS

Indigenous Graphic, Written, Data, and Technical Communications Support

Last Site Update: 2023/11/30

Service History

Through the isolation of the pandemic all Indigenous service providers faced the daunting migration to full online delivery. Re-emerging from isolation a collective proficiency at communicating with one another online had risen creating the opportunity for our stories and message to reach farther than ever.

As Communication Coordinator for the Nation Rebuilding Initiative of Mushkegowuk Council from 2020-2021 the challenge of successfully delivering a coordinated message to multiple First Nations comprising the Tribal Council in pandemic times required comprehensive written, graphic, technical, and collaborative capability.

With the need and opportunity in Indigenous Communications confirmed I decided to operate as a full-time registered sole proprietorship and offer such services beginning mid 2021. Over the last two years of successful service the need and opportunity have remained strong even through increasing living costs and rising prices.

Why Indigenous Communications

In establishing Digital Indigenous a balance between demand, passion, and opportunity was found in Indigenous Communications, namely:

  • the portrait of our people can now be our own design whose digital presence reaches all corners of the globe
  • connectivity has provided a platform for transparent Indigenous Leadership that fosters an informed membership through online collaborative tools such as social media, live streaming, video conferencing, and website hosting
  • control of our message from origin to destination now belongs entirely to us
  • tremendous opportunity in perpetuating a message of hope and confidence to our people that need to hear it during these challenging times
